Where do I learn more about using UNIX?

We recommend “Learning the UNIX Operating System,” published by O’Reilly & Associates. It provides a short introduction.

Also, the ACM Student Chapter offers free Intro to UNIX classes each quarter.

What do I do if my code won't compile?

If you suspect that the problem is due to missing libraries or a bug in the compiler, please send the relevant error messages to operator [at] cs.umn.edu . Otherwise, please consult the documentation or members of your group. Systems Staff is not able to assist you in code writing or debugging.
